How Much Time Do I Have to Appeal?

Return to Videos

Video Transcript:

It depends on the order from which you were seeking review. If it is a final judgment, you have 30 days from the entry of the final judgment in the state of Florida. However, if you must file a motion for rehearing to preserve some of the issues, you’re going to have 30 days from the date that the trial court enters its order on your motion for rehearing. If you need to appeal a non-final order, or some interlocutory order, it may be by an extraordinary repetition. In such case as a writ for certiorari, you have only 30 days and then you lose your right to do so.
