What Is a Parenting Plan?

Return to Videos

Video Transcript:

A parenting plan is a required part of any divorce, or paternity case involving children. A parenting plan will generally outline how parents are going to work together to take care of their children’s needs. It will address things such as parental responsibility, decision making, education, in addition to time sharing with the party’s children. Sometimes a parenting plan is agreed to by the parties, and approved by the court. And of course, if the parties cannot agree a court will establish a parenting plan based upon what the court believes is the children’s best interest.
